We are seeking an expert and highly skilled Senior Accounting Specialist to join our team with varied strengths. As a leader in our industry, we prioritize accuracy, compliance, and excellence in financial reporting and tax compliance.

Overview of the job

As an Senior Accounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local accounting regulations, and adherence to advise tax requirements. You will supply to the organization's financial visibility, legal compliance, and overall financial success. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide valuable insights on accounting and tax matters, and support the organization's financial objectives.

Your team

This role reports to Local Accounting and Direct Tax Managers in the Financial Services and Solutions catering for the Asia Middle East and Africa region.

How success looks like

  • Accurate Financial Reporting: Maintain accurate financial records and deliver reliable financial reporting. Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

  • Timely and Efficient Processes: Be able to lead local accounting processes efficiently and effectively. This includes accurately leading general ledger, reconciliation and journal entries activities.

  • Ensure Compliance: Consistently ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and tax laws. This includes accurately preparing financial statements, tax liabilities, tax returns, and other required documentation in a timely manner.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Successfully collaborate and connect with internal collaborators, external auditors, tax authorities, and other relevant parties and maintain positive relationships with them.

  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance processes, streamline workflows, and improve the efficiency of local accounting and direct tax compliance activities. This includes staying updated on industry standard processes and implementing improvements as appropriate.

    Responsibilities of the role

  • Financial Statements & Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements and financial reporting in line with market requirements. Including footnotes and supporting schedules, ensuring audit compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations for market handled.

  • General Accounting and Tax: Ensure compliance with local regulations and laws. Run accounting processes for the markets handled, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, tax calculations, tax filing, tax returns, month end closing activities and reconciliations etc.

  • Perform financial analysis and provide insights on financial performance and trends.

  • Collaborate with tax authorities and handle tax audits or inquiries.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting

  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of meaningful experience in audit or accounting roles in at least one core accounting area of financial reporting. These include: General Ledger Accounting, Financial Statements preparation, External Audit

  • Experienced with SAP (trial balance, journal entry view, balance sheet reconciliation and analysis for office) and Microsoft Office tools preferred

  • Experienced in financial statement analysis such as: balance sheet and profit and loss analysis, journal entry analysis and balance sheet reconciliation

  • With experience working with external parties such as auditor or audit client; or with experience addressing top management such as CFO
