As a Scientist in the P&G Global Product Stewardship organization, you will work within the Global Chemical Management Team with a high focus on Digital ‘end-to-end’ Innovation on Safety Data interpretation and communication. A position in Global Product Stewardship with P&G is an excellent opportunity to experience an intensive immersion in the exciting, challenging, and increasingly digital compliance world. This position requires the successful candidate to master at least one safety/regulatory discipline, and coordinate with the other functions within GPS to ensure appropriate strategies and programs are in place to support his/her projects. Proven collaboration and communication skills; interactions with regulatory agencies would be a significant bonus.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO P&G’S SUCCESS:

  • Receive training in national and international transport regulations to develop knowledge, and ultimately expertise, as a Dangerous Goods (DG) Expert. This will enable hazard assessment of mixtures and determination of the appropriate classification defining the risk management measures for safe transportation.

  • Apply digital skills to develop new processes required to direct and optimize the flow of compositional, safety, and commercial data in the P&G digital ecosystem. Integrate those data into risk assessments, providing stewardship guidance to multifunctional teams to enable safe handling of materials and products.

  • Build deep business process expertise and subject matter understanding of the external landscape related to the emerging and evolving global chemical control laws. Translate the regulatory requirements per country into work processes and IT requirements to enhance the GPS/Chemicals GBS service.

  • Develop digital innovations to maximize safety data sharing along the supply chains.

  • Build advanced knowledge of the GPS IT Tool platforms from a functional perspective.

  • Develop the Company Digital Innovation strategy to meet the growing requirements in safety and regulatory reporting obligations on a global basis, cross Sectors

Job Qualifications

YOU ARE THE RIGHT FIT IF YOU ARE/HAVE:

  • Graduated PhD ( or obtaining a PhD degree this academic year ) in (eco)toxicology, chemical engineering, chemistry, materials sciences, or life sciences.

  • Python (or C#) programming languages, ideally demonstrated through professional/personal projects.

  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously - to prioritize, park and react to changing requirements of our customers and by the business needs.

  • Ability to fully grasp and turn scientific principles into practical applications (applied science) through project work, particularly in the areas of safety / risk assessments.

  • Willing and able to learn regulatory requirements to write and implement IT design criteria avoiding any additional transactional costs between departments (practical experience in this is a plus)

  • Motivated and able to articulate, develop, and deploy a Digital Innovation vision to improve compliance of global business with chemical control laws.

  • Excellent communication skills as evidenced by participating to projects that involve multiple collaborators. Integrate complex technical data into actionable business actions.

  • Excellent teamwork skills and passion to work with others. Strong interest to develop global communication skills, as phone calls (and sometimes face to face interactions) will be needed on a global scale.

  • Positive attitude in front of apparent roadblocks/resilience/resistance to stress.

  • Experience and ability to work with various protocols - to apply established work processes, ensuring consistency of regulated documentation, while in parallel propose continuous improvement.

  • Office 365 capability, with onus on excellent Excel & database usage skills.

  • Strong levels of personal ownership, a high degree of initiative as well as a positive attitude.

    PREFERRED CAPABILITY

  • Experience with digital technologies & data flow. Experience of databases, data movement, digital innovation, and management.

  • Previous experience with cheminformatics (e.g., specific academic courses / academic research project) is also a plus.

  • Foundational knowledge of SQL language and relational databases principles as well as experience with Azure Databricks would be an advantage.

  • Experience in cheminformatics or bioinformatics would be an advantage.

  • Experience of a regulatory environment within consumer goods or pharma industry.

  • Experience of Safety Data Sheet or Dangerous Goods software.
